Biography (English)
Deniz Karakurt, the first child of a family that immigrated from Turkey to work as a worker and settled in Germany, was born in 1978 in Bremerhaven, the port city of Bremen. During his stay in this country, he lived under the traditional family roof with her parents as well as her grandparents. Upon the death of his father as a result of a work accident, he made a definite return to Turkey with his family. After that, he spent most of his summer holidays in Akçakışla sub-district of Şarkışla district. Here and in the surrounding villages he visited from time to time, he got to know the rural life and folk literature closely. He completed his primary, secondary and high school education in his hometown, Sivas. He left his Mining Engineering education in Eskişehir in his second year and returned to Sivas. He graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Cumhuriyet University. After working as a civil servant in Kütahya for nearly two years, he completed his military service as a tank soldier in Istanbul. The author, who is still working about Accounting at Sivas Cumhuriyet University, is married. He speaks German and English. He is the author of many books, especially The Apple and Turkish Mythology Dictionary.

Bundan sonra yaz tatillerinin böyük bir qisimini Sivasın Şarkışla mahalına bağlı Akçakışla bucağında keçirdi. Burada və zaman zaman gəzdiyi ətraf kəndlərdə çöl həyatı və xalq ədəbiyyatını yaxından tanıdı. İlk, orta və lisey təhsilini məmləkəti olan Sivasda tamamladı. Eskişehirdə aldığı mədən mühəndisliyi təhsilini ikinci ilində buraxaraq Sivasa təkrar döndü. Cumhuriyet Universitetində administratorluq oxudu. İki ilə yaxın bir müddət Kütahyada dövlət məmurluğu etdikdən sonra istefa etdi. Əsgərlik vəzifəsini İstanbulda tankçı olaraq tamamladı. 2009-ci ildə basılan, Anadolu şifahi izahat ənənəsindən və xalq hekayələrindən faydalanaraq yazmış olduğu "Alma" adlı bir romanı olan və hələ də Sivas Cumhuriyet Universitetində müəllim olaraq peşə həyatını davam etdirməkdə olan yazar evlidir.

Deniz Karakurt wurde 1978 in Bremerhaven, der Hafenstadt Bremen, als erstes Kind einer Familie geboren, die als Arbeiter aus der Türkei nach Deutschland eingewandert war. Während seines Aufenthalts in diesem Land lebte er mit ihren Eltern sowie ihren Großeltern unter dem traditionellen Familiendach. Nach dem Tod seines Vaters infolge eines Arbeitsunfalls kehrte er mit seiner Familie endgültig in die Türkei zurück. Danach verbrachte er die meisten seiner Sommerferien im Unterbezirk Akçakışla des Bezirks Şarkışla. Hier und in den umliegenden Dörfern, die er von Zeit zu Zeit besuchte, lernte er das bäuerliche Leben und die Volksliteratur hautnah kennen. Seine Grund-, Mittel- und Oberschulausbildung absolvierte er in seiner Heimatstadt Sivas. Er verließ seine Ausbildung zum Bergbauingenieur in Eskişehir im zweiten Jahr und kehrte nach Sivas zurück. Er absolvierte die Fakultät für Betriebswirtschaftslehre an der Universität Cumhuriyet. Nachdem er fast zwei Jahre als Beamter in Kütahya gearbeitet hatte, absolvierte er seinen Wehrdienst als Panzersoldat in Istanbul. Der Autor, der immer noch an der Universität Sivas Cumhuriyet im Bereich Rechnungswesen arbeitet, ist verheiratet. Er spricht Deutsch und Englisch. Er ist Autor vieler Bücher, insbesondere von Der Apfel und Türkisches Mythos Wörterbuch.

In the past, fairy-tale stories were told around the hearth in the village rooms, which were the common property of the village community, for days or even weeks. These used to take the place of the TV series in the times when the technology was not yet developed. In my childhood, I had the opportunity to witness the last examples of this oral narrative tradition.

Früher wurden in den Dorfstuben, die gemeinsames Eigentum der Dorfgemeinschaft waren, tage- oder sogar wochenlang Märchengeschichten am Herdfeuer erzählt. Diese ersetzten früher die Fernsehserien, als die Technologie noch nicht entwickelt war. In meiner Kindheit hatte ich Gelegenheit, Zeuge der letzten Beispiele dieser mündlichen Erzähltradition zu werden.
